NAR India

A new chapter in the history of India’s real estate broking was written in the year 2007 when the National Association of Realtors, India Chapter (NAR-India) was founded by brokers from across the country .BRAI played a significant to set up NAR-India and thereby planted a new milestone on the growth path of India’s real estate agency sector.NAR-India is an association of various trade bodies of real estate agents in India. It has its roots in the National Association of Realtors, USA. This apex body – NAR-India – is affiliated to broker trade bodies across the world, creating access for member agents to millions of property options across the globe with referrals. NAR-India made the planet one large, seamless marketplace for all to play in. In the area of globalisation, this landmark trade body created has become a benchmark that hundreds of agents exploit everyday.

Founder President Farook Mahmood is the Vice Chairman while Ayub Khan is the Secretary of NAR-India. Ayub has served in this position from 2013. Irshad Ahmed who has been on the Board since inception is the President-elect, and will take over in September 2018.NAR-India conducts a convention every year in India. This brings together realtors from across the world to discuss, debate and understand different concepts of real estate, get a refresher on the trends, and network for business prospecting. This convention is a treasure house of knowledge for brokers. It has eminent speakers and stalwarts from the sector throwing light on different aspects of business and marketing. It brings realtors up-to-date on the trends, innovative marketing concepts, markets developments and so on.

In 2015, BRAI organised the 7th NAR-India convention under the able leadership of Farook Mahmood. This convention had record attendance and profits. The convention was inaugurated by Shri. Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka. Many big names from the government and industry figured in the convention that was conceived and directed by Zahed Mahmood, along with Ayub Khan, N R B Garda, Wasim Taher, N A Afzal, Nasir Sharief, Irshad Ahmed, Hasib Noor and Farid Ahmed.NAR-India has become a point of reference today for realtors across the country and world who have benefitted immensely from it. The referrals generated from it across the word have brought in precious foreign exchange for India.

FIABCI – The International Real Estate Federation

FIABCI is Global

FIABCI is the French acronym for “Federation Internationale des Administrateurs de Bien-Conselis Immobiliers”, which means “The International Real Estate Federation”. FIABCI was founded 68 years ago and is headquartered out of Paris. FIABCI is a business network of real estate professionals worldwide. FIABCI provides access and opportunity for real estate professionals interested in gaining knowledge and conducting international Real Estate business. It has Members in 65 countries, including 100 Professional Associations, 65 Academic Institutions, 3,000 Individual Members and will be a million associate members shortly.

The FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards recognizes the best real estate projects around the world. World Prix d’Excellence Awards is the Oscars of the Real Estate industry and developers from India have participated and won awards and recognition. FIABCI is the most representative organization of the real estate industry in the world and holds special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. FIABCI India: Another boost for real estate industry

Farook Mahmood went the extra mile to bring FIABCI India onto the table of the nation’s real estate sector in 2016. FIABCI is a trade body that has amongst its members brokers, developers, architects, advocates, finance professionals, consultants, contractors, interior designers, property managers and professionals from many other allied segments from the real estate industry. Farook is the Founder President of FIABCI. Venessa D’Souza is the Vice President while Ayub Khan is the Secretary General and N A Afzal is the treasurer. N R B Garda, Rajeev Khaitan and Tony Kunnel are executive directors. CREDAI Karnataka and BRAI are the principal members of FIABCI India.

FIABCI World: Farook Mahmood is the World President of FIABCI International. He is the only Indian to hold this post. He was elected to this post in 2016 at the World Congress held in Panama City, with a two-third majority. He took charge in 2017 at a glittering ceremony at Andorra, a European city-state. He has travelled to over 140 countries and contributed to the cause of the sector. He has worked tirelessly to increase membership and set up more chapters – the latest being ones in South Africa, Vietnam and Arabic countries. He has raised various issues such as rationalisation of taxes and creating best practices across the world. FIABCI International is working to build more livable and efficient cities with the City Prosperity Index (CPI), a programme of the UN Habitat. The CPI is the United Nation’s platform for urban data, developed to formulate evidence-based decision-making and monitoring for cities. The CPI serves as a baseline setting, a decision-making tool, a policy dialogue and a monitoring instrument. The Index is current and evolving and uses different tools to develop products which measure the different aspects of urbanisation of a city. The platform offers the possibility of adopting a city-wide approach to development. FIABCI International, in collaboration with UN-Habitat, educates municipalities about the CPI, including the Perception Index developed by FIABCI.
